Today I decided I was going to catch up on some scrapbooking! Mom and Dad took the 3 older kids and I had the place to myself. Well Delaney has been crawling around but no troubles there. I am seriously stressing about keeping up with these books. I LOVE THEM! I LOVE DOING THEM! I just don't seem to get the time needed to produce them. I freaked when I realized I hadn't finished Dawson's 1st year book. It is DONE as of today! THANK GOODNESS! It is amazing how much I have forgotten about his babyhood. I get tears in my eyes just thinking about it! ANYWAYS..I was able to get a bunch of pages done. I have to now order more photos for Summer and few for Delaney's from Christmas that I missed. I have a whole book to do for Dawson for his 2nd Birthday! I WILL GET IT DONE!
I have decided that in 2009, I am going digital! The photos are already there. No markers, tape, stickers. All of it is online. I don't know if this will be cheaper than traditional scraping but I feel like it is the best and easiest way for me to keep doing what I love to do! I feel like the BLOG has become their baby books in a sense. I will someday go back and write it all down. It is just easier this way at the moment! The thought of being able to show off my pages as I get them done excites me. In fact if could go right along with the blog. There are site out there that will make a book for you. I am not sure on pricing but I can print out a copy for each kid every 5 years or whatever so they HAVE it. Do I sound like a crazy person? WELL...I am. I am crazy about keeping ALL the memories I can of these times.
Today while I was finishing Dawson's book and realized how much I had forgotten, it crushed me! So...in 2009...I am going Digital! Digital camera...check! Digital Pictures....check! Digital software...check! Memories....check! Looking forward to 2009 and learning a new way to keeping my memories!
PS I also realized that I needed to write on the back who was who in some of the YOUNG pics of my kids. Another advantage of Digital...all pics are on the computer in a DATED file!!
Also, earlier this week Sally told me she found an article that fit me to a T. What do you think? Sound like me?

I WILL ALWAYS BE READY TO REMIND YOU OF THESE THINGS, EVEN THOUGH YOU ALREADY KNOW THEM. . . . -II Peter 1:12 (NAS)
I AM A COMPULSIVE PICTURE-TAKER; each week I go through a roll of film. Four-year-old Solomon has eleven large albums dedicated to him. Henry, our six-month-old, is quickly getting used to the blinding flash that accompanies every one of his milestones: smiles, sitting up, reaching for a toy, a funny face while eating bananas.
Solomon's first sentence, "No cheese, Mama," had nothing to do with food. It was a protest against my incessant camera pointing and my instruction to "Say cheese!"
Our bookcases have been taken over by photo albums. My office desk has stacks of pictures from last year's Easter egg hunt, the Fourth of July parade and our summer vacation on Cape Cod, all waiting for me to find another album to put them in.
"You guys are such proud parents," a friend of mine remarked at the large envelope of photos commemorating Solomon's graduation from preschool.
"It's not that," I said. "What then?" she asked. I shrugged.
Later that night as I washed Henry's baby spoon, I realized what my picture taking is really about. Each photo is my attempt to keep them young, so that years from now, when they're grown, I'll still have my little boys.
Lord, it's good to watch them grow, but let me never forget the way they are today. -SABRA CIANCANELLI
