Happy Birthday Dawson!

Oh my..how time flies! My baby boy is one today!Hard to believe he is a "big" brother already.
Dawson is walking around this house almost at a run now and he is into everything.

He isn't naughty about it just curious. He is starting to say words like "oh oh" and some sound he makes for "what's that!". The best is his smile.
His big smile is wonderful but the little content smile is the one that gets me. He will be just sitting off the side watching the big kids with this smile on his face as if to say "this is my family"!

He sure loves Otto too.

The two of them have this deal. Dawson can do whatever he wants to to Otto as long as Dawson continues to "feed" Otto all the goodies from the table! LOL Speaking of food...have I mentioned that he loves to eat! I guess they all did at this age.
He enjoys eating big people food as well as jar foods right now. He has his two bottom teeth now and the top two aren't far behind. Teething always sucks no matter which kid it is. It is so hard to comfort them. The only things you can do is medicate and snuggle as much as he will let me. Dawson doesn't have his bottle anymore and this was a hard adjustment for him as he saw Delaney getting one and he wanted one too! He is now ok with his cup and will sometimes reach of Delaney's bottle and then look to see if anyone is looking and if you are he will shake his head "no" with that smile on his face. Another adjustment Dawson has had to make is to his big boy bed that Grandma Sal and Grandpa Dan got him. We used to just put him in his crib to roll around and do what he does to put himself to sleep. Well in a big bed even just the mattress with a railing on he has managed to roll off the bed. The first week was a rough one for the boys and papa who was getting up with them. That too has passed and Dawson is staying "in" his bed for the most part and sleeping until about 5:30am. I know some of you may think that is EARLY but for us it is wonderful! Dawson is learning to be gentle to his "twin" sister. Each day he is showing more interest in her. He tries to pat her head in his "gentle" way which isn't gentle enough. He will get there! Dawson is always watching what his "big" sister and "big" brother are up to. I keep telling them that he is learning from them and when they are mean he is learning that too. I hope that they get the clue and remember to be kind to eachother. I know siblings are siblings but it kills me to see them being mean to eachother. Anyways...if anyone has thoughts about Dawson's first year drop a note one the Monty Chat!

Dawson's Birthday party was a blast! Dawson had lots of "help" opening presents. His siblings were sure to rip open his gift before the thought even occured to him to try himself.
Oh well they were excited! Dawson and Andy have been working on how to blow out the candle and Dawson was happy to show everyone that the hard work of training...paid off!!
Then it was time to eat the cake...YUM! He sure had fun eating the cake and getting it ALL over himself. Too cute! Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to the party. It was great to celebrate with all of you! Dawson says THANKS for the gifts!!

Happy Birthday Again BIG D!!
