This weekend we went to Mike and Jacki's cabin! We had a blast and so did the CREW!
We decided to go Friday night instead of Sat. morning. Just easier traveling when the kids are sleepy/asleep. So we left about 9:30ish. The Garmin was taking us on every back road possible and that was really upsetting Andy. But I reminded him that it was taking us on the FASTEST route possible. I guess when you are directionally challenged like I am you are just happy that someone is going to tell you how to get there. It doesn't matter HOW just as long as it gets me there.
We were making good time, kids were asleep, and we had some good conversation going on. We made it into NECEDAH. Yay! We are almost there...at this point the snow had picked up and the visibility was so-so! We are just getting into Necedah when the van starts making this loud thudding sound. WTF! I though we blew a belt or something but Andy informs me that he thought it ran over something. So we stop along side of the road and find a BUNGEE cord IN our tire. The "s" hook was lodged in our tire and when Andy pushed on the tire there was a hissing sound. LOVELY! So he took the rubber part of the tire and we continued to travel.Hoping we could make it to the cabin. Well no such luck after a few miles the S hook dislodged and the tire went flat. CRAP!
Now imagine this...12AM...4 sleeping kids...back of van packed where the jack/tire are!! GREAT!! So we make a call to Mike and Jacki. Mike is on his way in mins. And the guys are taking care of the tire. Trouble is...they have no idea how to get the spare out from under the van. Out comes the instruction manual. Ohhhhhhhh...ok! So the spare is on. I hop in with Mike because my seat is loaded up with the stuff that was in the back of the van that had to be moved to find the jack/tire!
We finally make it there! Jacki is excited to see us all and we starting bringing the kids in. Madalyn,Dawson, and Delaney are all awake and are ready to party. Miles is OUT for the count and we don't hear from him until morning. We were up until 3AM when the other kids finally decided to chill and go to bed. WHOAA! Party animals!
The next day Miles wakes up and it excited to be at the cabin. Andy and Mike find a tire for the van and Andy is off to get it put on. Mike is off to get snowmobiles ready. Jacki and I took our time getting lunch ready/kids ready! :)
Then we were off snowmobiling! We went to a bar and grill called the Dirty Turtle. It was a fun place with lots for the kids to do. The Monty kids were super good on the snowmobile ride and a the bar and grill. Andy and I are super proud of how well they behaved this whole weekend.
Sat. night the kids went down around 9 or so and the adults partied like ROCK STARS! Pic. to follow...maybe! :)
Thanks MOM and DAD for watching Otto and THANKS Mike and Jacki for having us to your cabin. We had a blast!
